Biologist Yoshiki Sasai commits suicide after Nature-paper controversy

Social and online media has been abuzz with news and comment following the tragic suicide of Japanese stem-cell research pioneer Yoshiki Sasai on 5 August 2014. His death once again shone a spot-light on the shortcomings of peer-review and the pressures of publication-driven research.
