Event: Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology & Bioenergy
“Building Innovative Collaborations Across the Pacific”
The ninth annual Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy is the original conference dedicated solely to the growth of the industrial biotechnology and bioenergy sectors in North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
The 2014 breakout program features 5 tracks covering renweable chemicals, advanced biofuels and biorefineries, feedstocks,  algae, synthetic biology, and marine biotechnology.

The categories are newspaper or magazine articles, radio scripts, viral videos, and then an open category where your creativity is the limit.

Event: International Conference on Particle Induced X-Ray Emission
(PIXE) 2015

The PIXE conference is a biennial event which provides a forum to discuss recent developments and future prospects in particle induced X-ray spectrometry. The conference brings together physicists and scientists from different fields of application including biology and medicine, environmental and earth sciences, cultural heritage and materials research.
The conference is organised by the iThemba Laboratory for Accelerator-Based Sciences, a group of multi-disciplinary research laboratories administered by the National Research Foundation (NRF) and the Department of Sciences and Technology (DST) of the Republic of South Africa.

Event: ISCB Africa ASBCB 2015 Conference on Bioinformatics
The International Society for Computational Biology and the African Society for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology are hosting the ISCB Africa ASBCB Conference on Bioinformatics in Tanzania. This meeting constitutes the fourth joint meeting of ISCB and ASBCB, and the fifth conference of the ASBCB on Bioinformatics of African pathogens, hosts and vectors.
The ISCB-Africa ASBCB conference features a broad bioinformatics scope that includes a special focus on infectious diseases relevant to Africa. Please consider submitting your best research for presentation at the conference as a talk or poster. Topics will include the following (although other computational biology topics are welcome as we ultimately seek the best, most interesting and novel presentations for this conference):

  • Bioinformatics of human genetics
  • Host/pathogen systems biology
  • Database and resource development
  • Molecular epidemiology and evolution
  • Search and design of vaccines and drugs
  • Functional, structural, and comparative genomics
